• Inventory control — Inventory beer supply as needed for regular orders and special orders; capable of placing liquor and wine orders and fill in orders; check incoming deliveries of store products to verify accuracy of invoice.
• Maintain store appearance — Direct and assist in the setup of new displays; restock store shelves and reset cooler as needed; face and dust bottles and shelves regularly; sweep and/or vacuum floors; clean windows, maintain clean and well-supplied restrooms; assist in posting POS signs and creating displays.
• In absence of Store Manager, assume full store management responsibilities with the assistance of supervisors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
• Two years of progressively responsible retail experience preferably in a liquor store operation.
• Knowledge of and ability to follow state laws and city ordinances related to the sale of liquor.
• Ability to use good judgment and discretion in sales based on factors such as age, state of intoxication and product theft.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, vendors, and public.
• Ability to provide instruction and direction to less experienced employees and subordinates.
• Ability to use a computer, cash register, and a 10-key calculator.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as making change, counting cash, and using percentages to set prices/gross profits.
• Experience with negotiating agreements.
• Ability to work independently in the absence of a supervisor.
• This position requires the ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. The ability to bend/stand/reach is also required.
• Flexibility in work schedule is required to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
